Located in southern New Jersey, in rural Cumberland County, Bridgeton, NJ, the Seabrook House ® Men’s Long Term Rehab (LTR) program provides a long term treatment opportunity for up to 25 male residents recovering from alcoholism, chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. The facility is located on the Seabrook House ® main campus utilizing a 6,000 sq. ft. resident building, the main Founders Hall mansion for meals, therapy and lounging.
Why This Program? How Is This Any Different?
Addiction is a disease with multiple relapses just like diabetes, asthma, hypertension. It is chronic. It is not a one time event that goes away. Stigma and society tells us you should just stop it. This attitude creates a revolving shame cycle. This program is designed to provide a real life experience but with daily support, structure and counseling. In addition, the men’s LTR provides ongoing training in the areas of budgeting, career building, resume building, life skills practice, job interview training, applying to go back to school, managing cell phone and social media, balancing family, school or work life with recovery life. This is the recovery process. Recovery is a process and not an event!
The community backdrop for the Men’s LTR is Glassboro, New Jersey. Located only a 15 minute drive from the Seabrook campus, Glassboro provides a vibrant town full of restaurants, schools, and recreation. Home to Rowan University, Cooper Medical School, Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, South Jersey Technology Park, Rowan Boulevard, Fredric and Jean Edelman Planetarium, Barnes and Noble bookstore and Starbucks, Rowan Astronomical Observatory, Heritage Glass Museum, Art Gallery, Glassboro Town Square, Escape Room South Jersey, and Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center.
Long Term Rehab For Men
The Men’s LTR program is designed for chronic relapsers, licensed professionals, and those with a history of multiple treatments. It is an excellent opportunity for men in treatment for the first time who want to address the addiction head on to reduce the risk of relapse.
The program provides a minimum 12 month long term rehab program for men in early recovery. A minimum commitment for a 6 month length of stay is required. Length of stay is determined by each resident’s individual progress. The facility features both private and semi-private accommodations in the newly renovated East Hall Residence pictured above. The program is designed to immerse each man into a 12 step way of life, while providing the basic rehab support of counseling, housing, and recreation.
The program offers group therapy, individual therapy, EMDR, Equine therapy, Yoga, meditation, massage, acupuncture, music therapy and an outdoor adventure based “ropes” course.
In addition, a 4,000 sq.ft state of the art wellness center provides a separate cardio room with cable TV, weight room, meditation room, and a game room with a lounge. The program also provides a certified personal trainer and nutritional counseling. Residents have internet and WiFi access and may bring cell phones (restricted in Phase 1), and portable music players. All meals are prepared by a premier chef, and served in a private dining room.
The Men’s LTR program allows for outside activities to introduce the idea of sober fun. The campus is situated in close proximity to Philadelphia, Cape May, New Jersey and south jersey beaches, parks and recreation. The men attend other off campus events like the kayaking trips, theater, dinners out, movie nights and other local community activities.
The men also attend outside lectures on self help and recovery. They also participate in both on and off campus 12 step meetings. The residents are permitted to visit healthcare providers in the area.
Men’s LTR residents understand the importance of service and giving back. They participate in biweekly community service projects.
Extended Care Drug and Alcohol Rehab for Men
The program provides a multi-phase step-down for independent living and immersion into a 12 step recovery process. During free time, residents establish a sober support system in the community by attending local self help meetings. Referrals may come directly from Seabrook House ®’s 5 week primary rehab program or any other addiction treatment facility throughout the United States.
