Truck Driver Caught with $800K of Drugs in New Jersey

New Jersey state troopers performing a routine inspection of a truck driver in Greenwich Township arrested him after they found more than $800,000 worth of drugs. The drugs were hidden in the truck but the police managed to find them stashed in the ceiling and behind a false wall in the truck’s sleeper berth. Troopers reported more than 64 pounds of marijuana and 20 kilos of cocaine, and immediately arrested the driver. He’s being held with a $250,000 bail and charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine.

This is just one more story of how drugs ruin lives. The quick cash and easy work of shipping drugs has entrapped many people, often with tragic consequences. If you’re using drugs, you’re contributing to an industry that preys on people and gets them into crime. Not to mention doing drugs is itself illegal—you could be the next one in prison.

If you have a problem with alcohol or drug abuse or know someone who does, you should seek help now for yourself or your loved one. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center.
