New Jersey Woman Arrested Driving Drugs to Scranton

A woman from Irvington, New Jersey, was arrested recently allegedly on her way to deliver a carload of drugs to several customers in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The woman was apprehended with over 700 bags of heroin, more than 5 grams of crack cocaine, and at least 30 grams of powder cocaine. Police were alerted through a tip that the woman from New Jersey would be passing through Interstate 81 on her way into Scranton to deliver the drugs. One alleged customer of hers was also arrested and charged.

Each of the women were sent to Lackawanna County Prison with a $75,000 bail, after both being charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and other various charges. These two are a few tragic examples of how lives can be ruined by the drug trade, whether it’s because of dealing or drug use. This is true whether the drug in question is heroine, cocaine, crack, bath salts, painkillers, meth, marijuana, or any other drug. Though some people don’t realize it, buying drugs or being addicted to drugs directly supports this criminal network.

If you think you have a problem with drug dependence or abuse, you should seek help instead of supporting criminals. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center. At Seabrook, we customize our treatment plans to individual patient’s needs, so you know the help you’re getting is right for you or a loved one.
