New Jersey Ambulance Driver Shows Up Drunk

A New Jersey volunteer ambulance driver was arrested recently when he showed up responding to an emergency call while drunk, according to police sources. The 39-year-old volunteer lives in Warren County, New Jersey. He responded to a 9 PM emergency call and arrived at the scene with a blood-alcohol level of .08, which is above the legal limit in the state of New Jersey.

A police officer on the scene “noticed that the ambulance drove past where the medical call was, the ambulance then turned around at some point and then entered the wrong way into the complex.” Though it’s unclear whether the emergency squad believes that the volunteer driver has a problem with alcohol, the fact is that he put lives in danger by driving drunk—not only the lives of himself and his patient, but the lives of every other driver on the road. If you have any sort of problem with alcohol, you’re also putting every at risk through your behavior. But it’s not too late. You can turn your life around with treatment.

If you have a problem with alcohol or drug abuse or know someone who does, you should seek help now for yourself or your loved one. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center.
