A man was found dead in a Stafford home recently after apparently ingesting heroin. This prompted the Ocean County authorities to issue a warning about a deadly batch of the opiate stamped, “Hello Kitty” on the streets. The Ocean County prosecutor’s office issued the alert after testing the substance found near the victim’s body. The substance was mainly composed of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opiate, along with a cutting agent that has yet to be determined. The packets are stamped with the “Hello Kitty” cartoon character lending to its street name. Authorities suspect the powder contains toxic elements that if ingested, are fatal without medical attention.
