Drugs and Alcohol Possibly Involved in 15-Year-Old’s Death

Many parents are aware of the dangers of alcohol and drugs for their kids, and no parent wants to hear about their own child involved in dangerous situations. Yet, parents in Westerville, Ohio, recently got the call that no parent wants to hear. Their son Kenneth Raymond Bores III, a 15-year-old student, was found unconscious in an apartment late at night. He was rushed to the hospital by paramedics, but his condition was too advanced and his family had to make the heartbreaking decision to take him off life support after it was clear that he wasn’t going to wake up.

Police suspect that both drugs and alcohol could have been involved in Kenneth’s death. Two people found at the apartment, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman, were both charged with providing alcohol to a minor. The 20-year-old man told police that there were no drugs that night, but police say they may bring more charges as more evidence is unearthed. Kenneth’s parents said, in a released statement, “We hope that children in every community find the strength to take action when they see a friend in trouble.”
