Beware of Drug Laced Halloween Candy

As legal marijuana dispensaries are becoming more prevalent in the United States, police and parents are becoming more concerned that trick or treaters will end up with drug laced Halloween candy. Marijuana dispensaries frequently sell pot laced brand named candies, including Sour Patch Kids, Skittles and Dots. These brands of candy are also often handed out on Halloween to children. And because the drug laced candies do not look any different than normal candy, it would be hard for the children to tell a difference.

Emergency room doctors have admitted to seeing many cases of children coming in on Halloween night after ingesting laced candy. And with marijuana dispensaries popping up all over the country, the doctors are predicting to see an increase in visitors to the ER this year.

Parents are urged by police to thoroughly check their children’s Halloween candy before letting them eat any. Parents should throw away any off brands or packaging that may look odd. A simple check could save your child from spending the night drugged and in the emergency room.
