A New Way To Prevent Relapse

A new study released by Penn Medicine shows that the drug Baclofen, commonly used to prevent spasms in patients with spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders may be able to prevent cocaine- addicted patients to relapse. The study states that this drug can help to block the impact of the brain’s response to “unconscious” drug triggers before the conscious cravings occur. The study is still in it’s early phases but is showing hope for addicts.
