A Closer Look at Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing method that uses hair-thin needles that are inserted into the skin at specific locations called acupoints to encourage the flow of energy or ‘qi’. Acupuncture enhances the circulation of the blood and lymphatic fluid in the body—both of which play important roles in the removal of toxins and wastes from the body.

Acupuncture is popular healing method that increases the blood flow throughout the body which rejuvenates a person by giving them vital life energy. In the process acupuncture also improves the functionality of the immune system which makes the body more resistant to disease and it also quickens the healing time. Acupuncture also helps improve digestive system function, which plays a major player in the detoxification process, and it also provides relief from chronic pain. Studies have shown that acupuncture is very beneficial and helpful for detoxification. A recovering addict looking for a detoxification plan should consider involving acupuncture into their therapy because it really helps clear the body of the toxins that addictions induce—whether it’s drugs, alcohol, nicotine, or any other unhealthy compulsion.

The most important aspect about acupuncture is the way that it reduces stress level and minimizes the withdrawal symptoms of addiction rehab. By minimizing the physical and mental symptoms, acupuncture allows the person being treated to continue with the recovering process without a relapse. Boston, Massachusetts (MA) residents who are simply looking to deal with stress, or who are interested in the healing methods of acupuncture as it relates to detoxification and rehabilitation are encouraged to contact Seabrook House immediately. Seabrook House is an internationally recognized drug rehabilitation and detoxification treatment center that has facilities located in Bridgeton, New Jersey (NJ), Tioga County, Pennsylvania (PA), and New York (NY). Seabrook House implements the use of acupuncture into the individually structured detoxification and rehabilitation programs of each patient. The physical and mental healing that results from the acupuncture programs at Seabrook House allows our addiction patients to accomplish a more complete and withstanding recovery.
